So I finally did it and bit off on the big one. Most of you that know me know that I'm planecrazy, and sometimes just crazy. My mother certainly doesn't approve of this. This is something that I pondered over for about seven years. September '02 I finally made the plunge. This is an RV-8 kit plane made by Vans Aircraft in Portland Oregon. I had the privilege of flying their demo model back in '99 and have been dead set on getting my own ever since. This plane is all sheet metal and uses naval flush rivets over the entire body. The top speed of the finished product is around 225 mph with a range of  950 miles. I'm expecting to fly it for the first time in 2005- 2006, depending on my spare time. So far progress is slow and sporadic but I get the itch from time to time and don't leave the garage for a couple days. Enjoy the site. -Brad
